Welcome to Family First Early Childcare, where we believe in nurturing young minds and supporting families. Owned by Janeshia and Travis Brooks, our childcare center in Omaha, Nebraska, offers a welcoming, family-oriented environment that caters to children from 6 weeks to 13 years old.
Janeshia Cannon
Family First Early Childcare LLC was established in January 2024 by JaNeshia Cannon and Travis Brooks. JaNeshia, daughter of Joseph and Rosetta Cannon of Omaha, Nebraska, has always been passionate about working with children. Over the years, she has distinguished herself as a dedicated employee at DCYC, Boys & Girls Club of Nebraska, and OPS, where she worked directly with youth.
Travis Brooks
Travis Brooks, son of Willie and Barbara Weddle of Stanton, Tennessee, began his journey working with youth through Omaha's Lil Vikes football program, where he coached for four years. His dedication extended to his involvement with the Dirty Eagles youth wrestling team. As a foster parent, Travis discovered his true passion for helping young people navigate their challenges. .
Jayla Cannon
Jayla is a graduate of Omaha North High School and current student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha majoring in Early Childhood Education. She has a passion for engaging youth in a positive educational experience at an early age. She has seen children struggle firsthand, and believes children need a village to be successful. Jayla plans to continue her educational career by pursuing a Masters degree in School Counseling with an end goal of being a middle school counselor.
Rosetta Cannon
Rosetta Cannon of Omaha, Nebraska, is the wife of Joseph Cannon and the mother of four amazing children and nine grandchildren. Rosetta, commonly known as Sweet Ro and by all the kids as Ms. Rose, is a natural caregiver specializing in nutrition care. Ms. Rose worked at St. Joe's in the dietary department for 38 years and also at Creighton University, where she retired. From her experiences there, she gained extensive knowledge of the dietary needs of many individuals.
